The problem here is properly an advertisement provider which blocks the back button functionality.

The solution is to see which provider is causing this by right-clicking on the back button, a list is shown.

To make it easy, right click the advertisement, choose properties and copy the domain part of the address URL.

In Internet Explorer go to the menubar - choose 'Tools' - 'Internet options'.
Choose tab 'Security', select 'Restricted sites' after that press 'Sites' button.
Add the advertisement provider domain to sites (paste).
